With the new school year having just begun, the fall sports are starting to take shape. Here’s a look at each of the state’s seven Division I women’s volleyball programs schedules as they open up the 2022-23 season this weekend.

BYU Football: Ranking the Top 10 teams of all-time

No. 10 BYU

After reaching the NCAA Sweet 16 a season ago, the Cougars are ranked No. 10 in the national preseason poll. They are also the preseason pick to win the West Coast Conference for the third straight year after a 30-2 finish in 2021.

BYU begins the season hosting the doTERRA Classic, beginning on Friday, August 26.

State of Utah FBS college football: 2022 schedule breakdown and predictions

No. 22 Utah

Last season, the Utes finished third in the Pac-12, recording a 22-9 record while reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament where they fell to BYU.

Utah is ranked No. 22 in the national preseason poll, while they were also picked to finish seventh in the Pac-12 preseason vote.

The Utes begin the season hosting the Utah Classic, starting Friday, August 26.

Utah State Football: 2022 season preview

Utah State

The defending Mountain West regular season champions, the Aggies finished the 2021 campaign with a 22-9 record. In this season’s preseason MW rankings, they were picked to finish second.

Utah State begins the season by hosting the Utah State Invitational on August 26.

Weber State

Winners of the last three Big Sky regular season titles, Weber State finished the 2021 season with a 22-10 record and reached the third round of the NIVC.

Picked to finish second in this season’s Big Sky preseason poll, the Wildcats open the year by hosting the Weber State Tournament on August 26-27.

Utah Valley

Despite finishing fourth place in the WAC’s West Division in 2021, the Wolverines went on a surprise run to win the WAC Tournament. With a 16-13 record, they fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Utah.

This season, UVU is picked to finish second in the WAC’s preseason poll. They start the season participating in the Utah Classic on Friday, August 26. They will then open the home portion of their schedule on Monday, August 29.

SUU soccer wins home opener, historic start continues

Southern Utah

The T-birds went 6-22 in 2021, finishing last in their final season in the Big Sky Conference. They are picked to finish 12th (of 13) in this season’s WAC preseason poll.

SUU starts the season traveling to Ogden to play in the Weber State Tournament, beginning Friday, August 26.

Utah Tech

The Trailblazers finished 2021 with a 7-15 record, good for 6th place (of 7) in the WAC’s West Division. 

Utah Tech begins the season led by new head coach Camilla Hafoka and was picked to finish tied for 9th in the WAC preseason poll.

The Trailblazers will travel to Flagstaff, Arizona to participate in the Lumberjack Classic starting on Friday, August 26.
