Facing the last-place team in the East, RSL needed three points in a big way at home.

Instead, Real Salt Lake continued its second-half struggle in the campaign, being held to a 0-0 draw against D.C. United.

The single point RSL picked up means they have 43 points through 30 matches. With only four matches to go, they sit in seventh place, the last team in the playoff picture. The LA Galaxy are close behind, just three points back, and with a game in hand over Real.

While RSL tallied more total shots (16 to 8), shots on target (8 to 3), and possession (56 % to 44%) than D.C., they again could not put the ball into the back of the net and score goals when they needed them most.
