No. 7 Weber State

Facing No. 21 Eastern Washington at home following a bye week, the Wildcats pulled away in the second half to remain perfect.

The game was close until the midway of the third quarter when both teams traded scores with each other and the game was tied at 21.

Weber State took the lead with under four minutes to go in the third, thanks to a 49-yard field goal by Kyle Thompson to make the score 24-21.

The Wildcats took the momentum and ran with it, scoring three more touchdowns while shutting out the visiting Eagles the remainder of the way to secure a 45-21 win. The victory means Weber State is still perfect, with the 5-0 start to the season now the best in program history.

Bronson Barron completed 16-of-22 passes for 237 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats, while the offense racked up 260 rushing yards.

Damon Bankston rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while Dontae McMillan added 93 yards and two scores on just nine carries.

Play of the Game

The highlight of the game wasn’t from the offense or the defense, but the special teams.

Following an Eastern Washington touchdown that tied the score at 14, Weber State’s Abraham Williams took the ensuing kickoff 100 yards to house to put the Wildcats back in front.
