Playing its second game of a three-game road trip, the UVU Wolverines defeated UTRGV 75-61 on Saturday night.

The game was relatively close in the first half, with Utah Valley leading by just five points at the break as the Vaqueros looked for their first conference win.

The visitors had other ideas, however, as the Wolverines’ defense held UTRGV to just 31.8% shooting from the field (21-of-66) and just 29.2% from three (7-of-24) in securing the 14-point win.

Le’Tre Darthard led UVU in scoring with a game-high 19 points while Aziz Bandaogo (18 points, 16 rebounds) and Justin Harmon (14 points, 10 assists) added double-doubles in the victory.

The road triumph pushes Utah Valley’s winning streak to 10, while they remain a perfect 4-0 in WAC play.
