Both the Utah State and BYU women’s soccer teams learned their NCAA Tournament opponents on Monday afternoon.

In a rematch from earlier this season, the Aggies and Cougars will go head-to-head once again, but this time as postseason opponents.

The two sides faced off previously on Saturday, Sep. 16 in Logan, where USU knocked off the then-No. 1 Cougars 1-0.

This time around, BYU will host the Mountain West champion Utah State Aggies at South Field on Friday, Nov. 10.

The match will kick off at 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.

The Aggies and BYU have met each other once before in the NCAA Tournament, when the Cougars defeated Utah State 2-1 in the first round in 2012.

BYU

After runner-up finishes in both the Big 12 regular season and tournament, BYU was awarded with one of the four No. 1 seeds in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Cougars currently spot a 16-2-3 (7-0-3 Big 12) record.

Perennially one of the best teams in the West region, BYU is making its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and reached the Sweet 16 last season. Overall, the Cougars are making their 24th appearance.

Utah State

The Aggies recently won their first Mountain West Tournament title on Saturday, defeating Colorado State 1-0.

Utah State is appearing in its third-ever NCAA Tournament, including its first since winning the WAC regular season and tournament titles in 2012.

USU is 14-7-1 (9-2 Mountain West) on the season.
