Taking down Wyoming in five sets on Saturday afternoon, the Utah State Aggies women’s volleyball program claimed the Mountain West regular-season championship.

Tatum Stall led the Aggies with 19 kills, while Corinne Larsen added 10 kills, four aces, and four blocks. Abby Olsen led Utah State with 26 assists.

Just two years ago, the Aggies were in the cellar of the conference, winning just two games and losing 28. That disastrous season led to the firing of longtime coach Grayson DuBose, a position now filled by Rob Neilson. Having to play a shortened, conference-only season in the spring of 2021, the Aggies went 5-10.

Now with a full season under their belt, Neilson and the Aggies are Mountain West champions, the program’s first conference title since winning the WAC in 2012.

Utah State finishes the regular season 22-8 (14-4 Mountain West) and have a trip to the NCAA Tournament in their sights. They’ll receive a first-round bye in the Mountain West Tournament and will play in the semifinals on Thanksgiving Day.
