Playing on the road in the penultimate game of the regular season, the BYU Cougars took down Georgia Southern 34-17, improving to 9-2 on the year.

Georgia Southern took an early 3-0 lead before BYU took the 7-3 lead via a Lopini Katoa five-yard touchdown run. The Cougars increased the lead to 14-3 on the next drive when Jaren Hall found Puka Nacua in the endzone for a score.

The Eagles and their triple-option offense stormed back, scoring touchdowns on back-to-back drives to regain the lead 17-14.

BYU responded with a 39-yard field goal to tie the game and never looked back. Another field goal on the next drive gave the Cougars a three-point lead, one that they never relinquished.

A one-yard score on the ground by Tyler Allgeier and a second touchdown pass from Hall to Nakua gave BYU a 34-17 victory.

Jaren Hall led the way for the Cougars, throwing for 312 yards and two scored. Tyler Allgeier led the rushing attack, amassing 136 yards and touchdown on 26 carries. Four different receivers racked up over 60 yards each for the BYU offense.

Kicker Jake Oldroyd hit both of his field-goal attempts for the Cougars, while Jakob Robinson intercepted two passes on the defensive side. 

As a team, BYU racked up 507 yards (312 passing, 195 rushing) of offense compared to just 268 for the Eagles.
