After a win for the football team and an upset victory for the men’s basketball team, the BYU Cougars are racking up a lot of victories lately. But they aren’t just racking up big wins in the big sports, they’re doing it throughout all the sports.

Here at Stadium Sportzz, we are looking back at the highlights of the week for BYU outside of the “major” sports.

Women’s volleyball wins the WCC title

The No. 4 ranked Cougars (27-1, 17-0 WCC) took down Saint Mary’s in four sets on Saturday night, clinching the West Coast Conference regular-season championship.

Kenzie Koerber led the team with a career-high 19 kills, while Whitney Bowler added a double-double of 48 assists and 15 digs.

The back-to-back conference champions, BYU has now recorded 20 straight wins.

The Cougars now face No. 23 San Diego on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. MT in the regular-season finale.

Women’s soccer advances to the Elite Eight

Cam Tucker scored in the 47th minute while goalkeeper Cassidy Smith kept a zero on the Virginia side of the scoreboard, leading BYU (16-4-1) to an upset win in the Sweet 16.

The fourth-seeded West Coast Conference champion Cougars will now face South Carolina in the Elite Eight. The date, time, and location of the regional final will be announced at a later date.

This is the fourth time the women’s soccer team has reached the quarterfinal stage of the tournament, but they have yet to reach the College Cup Final Four.

Men’s club soccer wins the national championship

Taking on Texas in the national final on Saturday, the BYU men’s club soccer team came out on top, winning 3-1 to claim the 2021 national championship.

Before winning it all, the Cougars drew with Notre Dame before recording victories over UCF, Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Michigan to reach the final of the national tournament.

BYU has now won 10 national titles in men’s club soccer, taking home the trophy in 1993, 1995-99, 2001, 2017, 2019, and 2021.
