Every week on Stadium Sportzz, we will be posting weekly reviews of the three major men’s college basketball programs in the state.

With college basketball season just underway, let’s take a look at the results for each of the teams as they push for a bid to the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

BYU Cougars (4-0)

With four wins from four, the Cougars seem to be on track to return to the NCAA Tournament in March.

Tuesday vs. No. 12 Oregon – Won 81-49

Taking on the No. 12 Oregon Ducks, it seemed BYU would suffer its first loss of the season. So much for that chance.

The Cougars took the floor and dominated from start to finish to cruise to a big victory.

Alex Barcello dropped 25 points to lead BYU, while Te’Jon Lucas added 12. Fousseyni Traore and Spencer Johnson chipped in with 10 points apiece.

As a team, the Cougars shot a blistering 59.6 percent from the field (34-of-57), while making their three-point attempts at a 40.9 percent clip (9-of-22).

The 32-point win for BYU was the largest over a ranked team in school history.
